Cuisine at The Old Manse

Bread, oat-cakes, scones, biscuits, yoghurt, conserves and marmalade are all home-made.
Many other ingredients for our meals are fresh high quality Scottish products such as smoked Ayrshire bacon, Loch Fyne kippers, peat smoked haddock, Scottish smoked salmon, Aberdeen Angus beef, Scottish hill lamb, free range eggs from Strachur and fresh herbs and vegetables from our garden.

Breakfast

The extent of the breakfast menu indicates how serious your hosts view this most important meal. There are, of course, all the usual dishes, but what about:
Winston Churchill's venison sausages
or
home-smoked and fried cod's roe
or
Kedgeree
or
French toast and crispy bacon with maple syrup
or
a plate of life-enhancing "Trainsmash"
or, perhaps,
black pudding and grilled tomato?


Breakfast is served in the handsome breakfast room, lined with books and twinkling with silver and crystal.
